EIG RE

"Insurance Company EIG Re" EAD (formerly named HDI Zastrahovane AD) is a non-life insurance company operating on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria. The Company operates mainly in the field of active reinsurance on different business lines. EIG Re is able to provide support for various Property, Engineering and Marine lines with individual approach to each single risk.

In 2015, Euroins Insurance Group acquired the majority stake in the capital of HDI Zastrahovane AD, with which the company became part of the Group and its name was changed to "Insurance Company EIG Re" EAD.

Euroins Insurance Group (EIG) is one of the largest independent insurance groups in Central and Southeastern Europe. The company focuses on offering a full range of insurance products in the areas: general, health and life insurance. The group based in Sofia operates in various European countries, having subsidiaries in Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Georgia, Russia and Ukraine. Since 2014 EIG has been operating in Greece, and since 2016 in Ukraine, where it already owns two companies. In 2017 EIG acquired an insurance company in Russia, and since September 2018 acquired a significant shereholding in an insurance company in Georgia. These acquisitions are related to the EIG's strategy to increase its presence in Eastern Europe and the CIS. EIG has niche operations also in Italy, Spain and Poland. The Group serves more than 2.5 million customers, has 2100 employees and annual revenues of € 330 million.

Euroins Insurance Group AD is a subsidiary of Eurohold Bulgaria AD – a leading public company whose shares are traded on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) and the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE). "Eurohold Bulgaria" AD operates in Central and Southeastern Europe with a focus non-banking financial services and asset management.

In 2021, Insurance Company EIG Re was named “The most dynamically developing insurance company” of the traditional "Best Insurer of the Year" awards organized by the Insurance and Finance Higher School, Association of Bulgarian Insurers, Foundation "Prof. Dr. Velislav Gavriyski ”and the Bulgarian Association of Supplementary Pension Companies.
